Airbus Helicopters has started what could be the next big step in advancing the aerial portion of the logistics chain from the shore to offshore platforms and drilling rigs. The moving of heavier cargo has traditionally been left to the workhorses of the marine fleet that services the offshore energy industry. All of that may soon be changing as Airbus Helicopters has started the concept phase for a new helicopter that will service the offshore oil and gas industry.
