There have been no considerable changes in the Mediterranean freight marketin early October. Freight rates have stabilized on almost every route. Heavy cargotraffic is seen only in the eastern part of the basin, while the number of smalltonnagevessels is growing gradually. This is due to the fact that many charterershave closed long-term contracts and are not offering cargoes in the spot market.
