Getting to know nozzles

Nozzles are the most important boomspray component, as they meter the flow of product, atomise it into droplets, and disperse it into a pattern allowing accurate application across the width of the boom. Different types of nozzles produce a differentrange of spray quality and droplet size. Generally, the standard flat fan spray nozzles produce fine to medium spray quality, drift reducing flat fan spray nozzles produce medium to coarse spray quality, low pressure air induction flat fan spray nozzlesproduce coarse spray quality and high pressure air induction flat fan nozzles produce very coarse spray quality (see Figure 8).
