摘要

The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is supporting an initiative to map spray-drift sensitive crops, to help growers better manage herbicide applications. More widespread adoption of no-till farming systems and a shift in weed populations are among the drivers for the increased use of phenoxy herbicides (Group I) during recent years. The increase also coincides with rising levels of chemical spray-drift damage in cotton crops. Both the cotton and grain industries have a stake in the continued use of phenoxy herbicides because they provide cost-effective weed control for growers, many of whom grow both grain and cotton. However, continued use of phenoxy herbicides will be increasingly contingent on managing off-target impacts.
