摘要

Researchers followed 18,616 people for as long as 31years (range o-31 years, average follow-up was 21 years)between 1976 and 2007 and found that better educatedmen and women had nearly half the risk of hospitaladmission for heartfailure than the least well educated."This is the largest and most comprehensive study so far toexamine the relationship between socioeonomic factorsand the risk of developing heart failure." said Dr EvaPrescott,Professor of Cardiovascular Prevention andRehabilitation at Bispebjerg University Hospital(Copenhagen,Denrnark). who led the study. "Although it iswell known that socioeconornic deprivation is associatedwith coronary heart disease, much less is known about thelink with the developrment of chronic heart failure. The twodiseases share some cornrmon risk factors, but it isestimated that less than half of chronic heart failure casesare caused by coronary heart disease. In addition, chronicheart failure is beconing increasingly onmon.
