This Tennessee farmer cuts costs while adding value to farm products. William Henley is not an agricultural economics professor, but he thinks and operates his 1,700-acre farm like one. He cuts costs where possible and is always looking for new andadded ways to make a farm dollar. Just like many other farmers in recent years, Henley is fighting the battle to save the family farm. Although he is in partnership with his father, the burden of the farming operation is on his shoulders since his father retired because of health reasons about the same time Henley graduated from college and returned to the farm in 1989.
