摘要

We investigate mode transformation between longitudinal mode and transverse mode byspherical solid object. By analyzing the scattering cross section, we find that longitudinalwave (L) transformation to transverse wave (T) is much more than transverse wave (T) transformation to longitudinal wave (L). The ratio of L→T converted waves to T→ L converted waves is verified to be independent of frequency. The strongest modetransformation between transverse mode and longitudinal mode can be obtained bychoosing a solid sphere with large density and low shear velocity and background withsmall density and high shear velocity.
