摘要

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, PtCl 2 (C 15 H 20 N 2 S), comprises one Pt II ion, one N -heterocyclic carbene(NHC)-thio­ether ligand and two chloride ions. The Pt II ion is four-coordinated by one C atom and one S atom of the NHC-thio­ether ligand, and by two chloride ions, forming an approximately square-planar geometry. In the crystal, the mol­ecules are linked via C—H⋯Cl and C—H⋯ π inter­actions, forming a layer parallel to the ab plane.
