The Epilepsy Nurses Association: serving the needs of epilepsy nurses for 30 years

I have been an Epilepsy Specialist Nurse for 15 years, and for the past 9 years, I have also been on the executive team of the Epilepsy Nurses Association (ESNA). ESNA is a professional organisation for all nurses supporting people with epilepsy in the UK and until recently, has been the only national association for epilepsy nursing in the world. In the past year, ESNA has also been forging connections with epilepsy nurses and other professionals from across the globe, including Germany, Slovakia, Zambia and Scandinavia. ESNA offers education, expertise and empowerment for all epilepsy professionals. In 2022, ESNA celebrated their 30th anniversary and held its 2-day conference in Glasgow, incorporating an ESNA Achievement Award, voted for by members, for an epilepsy specialist nurse (ESN) who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. The award was won bv Yvonne Leaw. who is an ESN from Edinburgh.
