ENERGY SECRETARIAT EVALUATES INCREASE IN FUEL ETHANOL MANDATE

Local press reports said that Argentina's Energy Secretariat is evaluating a proposal from the sugar sector to increase the minimum blending obligation for fuel ethanol by two percentage points to 12% vol. Car sector industry group ADEFA recently pointed to possible technical problems with the higher blends. The secretariat then asked for more details which have so far not been provided by ADEFA.
