WEAK ETHANOL PRICES DRAG CROPENERGIES INTO THE RED

The ongoing price depression on the European market is likely to push German ethanol producer CropEn-ergies into the red for the full 2014/15 (Mar/Feb) fiscal. CropEnergies reported a sharp y/y decline in its economic performance in the first half of its 2014/15 fiscal year. The company, a unit of sugar producer Sudzucker, said that while revenue rose by 9% to EUR405 mln, EBITDA fell to EUR13 mln from EUR42 mln. For the operative result, a decline to EUR-4 mln from EUR26 mln was recorded.
