NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE BIODIESEL INDUSTRY

Crimson Renewable Energy LP said it has restarted operations at its biodiesel plant in Bakersfield, California. The plant is now able to process waste feedstock such as used cooking oil, yellow grease and inedible animal fat. It was closed due to unfavourable economics in late 2009 and has an annual production capacity of 25 mln gallons of biodiesel. The company said it expects to reach about 1 mln gallons per month by the first half of 2012.
