Tricia Anderson, who worked at MIDIRS at its inception before training as a midwife, and was editor between 1995-1997, sadly died in 2007. She was passionate about normality in childbirth and worked for several years as an independent midwife. After her untimely death a fund was set up in her name under the auspices of the lolanthe Trust; here is a quote from the lolanthe website regarding the fund:'The Tricia Anderson Award is made annually and supports individuals or groups wishing to undertake activities that reflect Tricia's passion, innovative approach, scholarship and commitment to the wellbeing of mothers and midwives. 2013 marks the last year of the awards and this symposium paid tribute, not only to this year's winners but also to Tricia herself, so the occasion was both sad and uplifting for all those present.
