DAVID Brown's IntelGear is a robust gear alignment and torque monitoring system that can be used with in service gear drives to improve reliability and maximise productive uptime. Its continuous electronic monitoring system checks gear alignment and also detects in service gear loading making it ideal for low speed, high torque applications with variable loading - conditions that are typical of many heavy process industry environments. IntelGear offers two main benefits: it enables the correction of gear mesh misalignment to reduce face load distribution issues and prevent the most common gear failure mode - surface distress and face pitting of the gear teeth, and it detects excess loading or overload situations during regular gear operation to enable corrective operational action to be made before any damage occurs.
