摘要

abstract_textpOn this work an equipment innovation and evaluation of the Powder Fed Plasma Transferred Arc welding process (PTA-powder) are presented The emphasis is its use on metal surfaces covering out of the flat position. With the expectations to use the process on hydraulical turbine blades repair eroded by cavitation, the studies of the process performance and the influence of the each kind of current to be used (constant direct current and pulsed direct current) over the cavitation resistance of the Stellite-6 alloy were assessed according to the ASTM G-32/92 norm, by indirect methods. Between the Stellite-6 alloy coverings made with constant direct current and pulsed continues current made by the PTA-powder there were no significant differences on cavitation resistance. On the other hand the Stellite-6 alloy coverings made by the PTA-powder showed higher performance comparing to the Cavitec alloy made by the MG and PTA-wire process./p/abstract_text
