With the rights to a highly sought after piece of gold real estate in Senegal and a world-class mineral sands deposit well into feasibility study mode, Mineral Deposits Ltd is one company on the move. A takeover target, the company has Kumba Resources Ltd holding a 10 percent stake (not forgetting that the mining house owns mineral sands company Ticor Ltd in Australia). One would have to wonder what intentions Placer Dome Incorporated or Newmont Mining Corporation has for the group -- two companies Mineral Deposits beat off in the tender process to win the rights to develop the Sabodala 1 project in Africa.
