Porphyry now sizing up

Latin Gold Ltd, formerly Westmag Ltd, is currently undertaking a 20 hole diamond drilling program at its Paron gold project in the Department of Ancash, some 470 kilometres north of Lima in Peru. By late November, the 1,300-1,500 metre program was about 50 percent completed with 12 holes drilled. The program has been designed to test the potential of the Paron project to host a near surface/outcropping zone of gold mineralisation as well as test for potential repetitions or extensions at depth. Assay results for the initial three holes have been received. Core recoveries have averaged greater than 90 percent, which is some 50 percent higher than historic drilling recoveries in comparable zones.
