Nickel project off to a flying start

If all goes to plan Western Areas NL could be rivalling Jubilee Mines NL in terms of annual nickel production from its Forrestania tenements in Western Australia. Its target is to produce of 10,000 to 12,000 tonnes per annum of nickel and it is well on track to achieving its goal. The Flying Fox mine is due to come on stream in the June quarter of 2006, while a feasibility study is being undertaken on the Diggers South deposit and drilling continues at New Morning/Daybreak and Cosmic Boy. There is no question the Flying Fox mine is heading towards being a world-class discover)' but Western Areas is now looking to prove it has a nickel province in its backyard, not just one deposit.
