The Australian Stock Exchange has again I reminded the country's mining and exploration sectors that it has a number of concerns regarding some of the terms being used by listed companies when it comes to the classification of mineral resources. These include phrases like contained potential resource, target potential resource, pre-resource tonnage and grade, potential to increase resources and visible gold. "Potential multi-million tonne target" and "largest alluvial gold fields in...." are two other descriptions which makes the ASX a little wary. According to the exchange's assistant manager for companies -- Tony Walsh - the unwarranted use of premature comparisons of ore bodies was an additional worry.
