Sally Malay Mining Ltd is now five months away from commissioning its namesake nickel-copper-cobalt project in Western Australia with open pit mining now under way and play commissioning set for early August. The mining contract was finalised during the December quarter and Roche Mining Pty Ltd has now delivered a truck fleet and excavator to site. Construction of the tailings and water clams will start this month after the wet season. Project financing secured during the December quarter included the senior bank facility with Macquarie bank and Standard Bank London for 53 million dollars and the Jinchuan subordinated 5 million US dollars loan, which has been converted through hedging to 6.85 million dollars.
