Early sniffs seem favourable

OmegaCorp Ltd is looking at farm out opportunities for its recently acquired heavy mineral sands licences in Tanzania. It is also searching for new business opportunities within the country. The company listed on the ASX in August and acquired Rift Valley Goldfields Ltd, which held the three HMS licences in Tanzania that cover more than 3,000 square kilometres of the country's coastal plain. Previous work within the licences defined five surface prospects up to 35 km in length that were characterised by favourable assemblages of ilmenite, rutile and zircon. Systematic surface mapping, sampling and drilling at one prospect (Tajiri) intersected shallow high-grade mineralisation. These surface prospects occur within a total project area of about 3,146 sq km, in which the company has acquired a 100 percent interest The area is also considered prospective for concealed HMS deposits.
