The East Lancashire Railway's annual DMU weekend on November 12/13 was deemed a success, bringing the curtain down on the railway's calendar of enthusiasts' events for 2022, just ahead of another very successful Santa special season. ELR finance director David Layland told Railways Illustrated that the event attracted more than 500 visitors on the Saturday and a further 400 on the Sunday, with the railway's Class 104, 105,122 and 144 DMUs all in use and only the Calder Valley Class 110 and Class 121 DMUs out of service and therefore unable to take part.
