Integrations beyond integrations

摘要

In 1910, the Flexner Report emphasised the importance of integration and advocated the integration of laboratory and supervised clinical experience to improve the state of medical education. The field has progressed significantly since that report was published. Despite there being new challenges for medical education to overcome (e.g. the advancement of biomedical knowledge and the commercialisation of health care delivery), integration was again underscored as one of the four themes of medical education reform proposed by the Carnegie Foundation in 2010.
