摘要

Context and setting Medical students frequently enter clinical training with minimal experience or training in handling emergencies. In the hospital or clinic, or among the general public, they may be faced with emergencies that require immediate life-saving interventions until definitive help arrives. In addition, students also begin to face the day-to-day risk of exposure to infection. Our course, 'Save a life and protect your own', addresses these two challenges and is delivered immediately prior to students beginning the clinical (clerkship) component of their medical school training.Why the idea was necessary When medical students begin their clinical rotations they have limited clinical experience, the vast majority of which has been gained in the out-patient ambulatory setting.
