The present disclosure generally relates to polymeric blend production and extrusion. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to methods of producing polypropylene blends suitable for extrusion coating applications, and their use. In general, the present disclosure provides a polypropylene blend suitable for use in extrusions with improved processability and reduced neck-in. Thus, at least one aspect of the invention provides a process for the production of a polymer blend suitable for extrusion, the process comprising: forming a polymer composition in one or more polymerization reaction zones, the polymer composition comprising polypropylene; feeding the polymer composition from the one or more reaction zones into a first extruder; feeding a low density polyethylene or a linear low density polyethylene, to the first extruder; and feeding a peroxide to the first extruder; wherein contact of the polymer composition, the low density polyethylene or the linear low density polyethylene, and the peroxide forms a polymer blend.
