The present invention is related to the field of molecular biology, more precisely to molecular biology applied to cosmetics, even more precisely to o novel blend of a peptide, Neoclair Pro? (INCI: Acetyl tetrapeptide-2), with ferulic acid or carnosine and compositions containing said blends, showing a novel antioxidant and/or antiodour efficacy via reducing oxidant species (radicals) and/or aldehyde species (responsible of odour), respectively. The inventors of the present invention, after extensive and exhaustive research, have found a blend of a peptide, Neoclair Pro? (INCI: Acetyl tetrapeptide-2), with either lerulic acid hereinafter, BL1FD15ChAG) or carnosine (hereinafter, BL2CD15ChAQ) which have shown to have antioxidant and/or anti-odour properties, Blend BL1FD15ChAQ, due to the combination of an antioxidant peptide with ferulic acid, is able to capture oxygen (ROS), nitrogen (RNS), carbonyl (RCS) and sulphur species (RSS) all of which degrade skin biological structures (proteins, lipids, DNA, etc.). Therefore, the blend by reducing these damaging radicals is able to reduce the oxidant species present in our skin and/or eliminate aging signs such as wrinkles and/or act on sensitive skin (characterized by redness, itchiness, dryness), acne, to state some. On the other hand, blend BL2CD15ChAG, due to the combination of an antioxidant peptide with carnosine, is able to neutralize body odours (e.g., trans-2-nonenal) produced by lipid peroxidation and by-products from oxidative degrodation of other sweat metabolites (e.g. isovaleric acid). Therefore, the blend by reducing these volafile organic compounds (VOCs) created by metabolization by the cutaneous bacterial flora or oxidation, is able to reduce characteristic and/or unpleasant skin odours.
