Global crude steel output was little changed in September, declining by 0.1% year-on-year, reaching a level of 134m tonnes for the month, the lowest level witnessed since February 2014. MBR understands that global utilisation levels were estimated at 76.1% through September, a decline of 2.6% year-on-year, according to the World Steel Association's latest figures. Global crude steel production has increased by 2.1% year-on-year over the first nine months of the year, driving ferro-alloys consumption.
