Falling global steel production weighed on vanadium demand through June, with prices in both Europe and the USA experiencing declines. With uncertainty a common theme across global markets purchasers are unwilling to hold large stock levels and traders are looking to unwind position in the face of falling prices. The advancing of infrastructure projects in China and slowing steel production rates will help clear some of the over-supply in steel markets and eventually push up prices and in turn we may see vanadium buyers re-enter the market.
