Energy crises throttles industrial growth in TN; blueprint needed to drive growth of chemical industry

Industrial development in Tamil Nadu (TN) is in a crisis, with a severe scarcity of power affecting operations of a host of industries. Starting this month, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has imposed a one-day moratorium on power consumption in every manufacturing unit in an industrial estate located in the suburbs of Chennai (incidentally where this magazine is produced). This is being replicated in many other parts of the State.
