Quality year for Ontario grapes

The weather during this year's Ontario grape harvest was as good as it gets in September and October and a world apart from last year's wet, cold harvest weather that saw the quality of juice and wine grapes suffer. While it was another late spring, the crop caught up over the summer. There was no early frost this fall in Niagara or in southwestern Ontario that hurt anything, or rain or other adverse weather, said Jim Rainforth, secretary of the Ontario Grape Growers' Marketing Board.
