摘要

The optodynamic method far the evaluation and inspection of materials is based on non-contact excitation of ultrasonic waves by short laser pulses as well as an non-contact detection of these waves and of their reflections by a modified laser interferameter. The linear correlation between the Interferometer output signal and the amplitude of the measured ultrasonic wave permits a detailed study of laser-generated ultrasound. An experimental analysis of the influence of the incident laser-pulse parameters is presented and the use of the method in a defectoscopic investigation is demonstrated.
