Two major exhibits -outdoor live and indoor static - saw Wood-Mizer tackle both small timber processing and industrial needs at Ligna Hannover in May. Wood-Mizer took a plot between some of the vast Messe halls 'to simulate the sort of small-scale timber processing operation in which its band sawmills are increasingly used', according to Wood-Mizer's chief operating officer Dan Laskowski. The mills and ancillary equipment working on the stand represent a potential semi-industrial timber set-up whichcould saw up to 25m~3 per working day or 6000m~3 a year,' he said. 'In a three-shift operation the same group of machines might produce up to 60m~3 a day or 15 000m~3 a year'.
