We show that: (a) porosity effect can be estimatedeffectively in the domain of share modulus scaledby density (μρ), and porosity (φ) can be trans-formed quantitatively from /4p; (b) fluid effect canbe estimated effectively in the domain of Lame's constantscaled by density (λρ), and water-saturation (Sw) can betransformed quantitatively from λρ and φ because a changein λρ is related to changes not only in Sw but also in φ. Theseconsiderations from the rock physics analysis were convinc-ingly demonstrated by the seismic applications and seismicreservoir characterization, and successfully validated by thetransformed φ and Sw in our case study.
