"Before we bought our Bobst Fuego, eighteen months ago," explains Bill Street, Managing Director of Jaymar Packaging, "we were spending as much as pound 8000 (16,000) a month on having work glued outside. Within weeks of the Fuego arriving we had cut that down to almost nothing. It was astounding how much effect one machine could have on our business. It has been a great success for us." Less than two years on from that Fuego investment and the Crewe, England company has just installed a second Bobst gluer, this time a Mistral, big brother of the Fuego. The intention of this latest investment has been to further increase gluing performance and capacity. "We've done really well in gaining new accounts over this last 18 months," says Mr Street. "One of the reasons we've done so well is because we can turn work around quickly and the Fuego has helped us keep on doing that. We respond to customers' needs quickly and that's particularly important on the odd occasion when they are in trouble time wise. We can vary our schedule and slip their job in, unlike many big companies."
