摘要

Aircraft structural health monitoring (SHM) increases an aircraft's lifecycle and reduces the operating cost. It increases aircraft safety and availability, and helps in aircraft maintenance. There are three primary areas for monitoring. Load monitoring identifies both local strain and hot spots. Damage detection identifies cracking in metal structures and delamination of composites. Environmental damage monitoring identifies effects of corrosion such as metal thinning.
