I have always admired Silkies, I used to keep Whites and Golds a few years ago - just to have as surplus broodies. However, I must admit, I doubt mine would have won any shows. Silkies are a wonderful collection of mutations together in the same bird. In my opinion, the Blue in the earlobe is caused by the combination of white pigment (purine) from the earlobe sayered over dark skin.
