Modern Thin-layer Chromatography: Precise and Accurate Quantitative Determination

Thin layer chromatography is a separation technique which proved its utility in many fields. It is commonly used in pharmaceutical, environmental and phytochemical investigations. In its conventional form TLC enables quick, inexpensive quantitative or semiquantitative analysis but nowadays it can be fully instrumentalized and the range of its applications is wider. It has some important advantages and should be taken to consideration as a powerful method not only complementary to the other methods but it can be used as their alternative.
