摘要

Most gardeners know which side their bread is buttered when it comes to asters - they'll usually choose the mildew-free New England forms as opposed to the New York types which are not so much 'Big Apple' as Big Mildew Problem. Classic New Englanders, such as the cheery 'Harrington's Pink', are sure-fire, disease-free winners but, if you're an aster fan, there's a wealth of other disease-free types waiting to be tried, including compact plants for border fronts and pots, bronze-leaved ones for contrast and tiny-flowered, bushy forms for creating low hedges.
