Synthesis of Some New 1,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted-1H-imidazole-2(3H)-thiones Via a Facile One-Pot Three-Component Reaction in the Presence of Solvent and Heteropolyacids

摘要

A simple and efficient synthesis of 1,3,4,5-trisubstituted-1H-imidazole-2(3H)-thiones via a one-pot threecomponent reaction of benzoin with isothiocyanates and aromatic amines in the presence of glacial acetic acid and heteropolyacid is described. All synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of their spectral and microanalytical data.
