BASF to cut back in pigments

BASF plans to cut capacities for pigments following its acquisition of Ciba Holding, a move that will cost 400 jobs. Ludwigshafen-based BASF said the reduction will mostly occur with azo pigments and phthalocyanines, which find some use in rubber and poly-urefhanes. The company said the measures will begin this year and be completed by 2013.
