At the K show last year, EOS exhibited contour conformal cooling mould inserts made by the Czech Republic based company Innomia. Innomia uses a direct marag-ing laser sintering (DMLS) process with an EOS EOSINT M270 laser sintering machine to produce the inserts, which are made of EOS MSI Maraging Steel (1.2709) metal laser sintering powder. The company builds up 40um layers of the MS 1 material (18% nickel, 9% cobalt, 5% molybdenum steel alloy) to create the inserts.
