A tyre factory is both labour-intensive and capital-intensive. Most factory managers need their plant to run at 100 percent capacity before they can even break even, let alone make a profit. Imagine a system which can effectively model a tyre factory, taking into account the idiosyncrasies of each extruder and curing press, and then optimise material flow to deliver maximum profitability according to the production schedule and the workers and equipment available.
