摘要

The first edition of Medicine, Patients and the Law reached the bookshelves in 1987 and can be said to have catalysed a boom in medico-legal publication. At the time it was published, it was obvious that it was different from its very few competitors. To-day, there must be close on a score of major textbooks impacting on medical law, yet Brazier and Cave still retains its aura of difference -and the theme of this review lies in the identification and analysis of where that difference lies.
