I don't remember who suggested live bees for the honey exhibit at the Steuben County fair in New York, the oldest continuous fair in the United States, but like a herd of lemmings, everyone in the steuben county Honey Bee Association thought it was agreat idea. Dan, one of the oldest members, winked at the others and said, "I have an observation hive I used to take around to schools. But I can't spare any bees..." Everyone turned and looked at me.
