Networking helps producers benefit from economies of size. Can a smaller producer compete in today's'environment? That's a compelling question these days as cattle producers face tough economic times. But, a promising future doesn't necessarily dependon size, says Dennis DiPietre, University of Missouri Extension specialist. It belongs to those who position themselves to gain long-term access to markets, information, financing and technology. Each is critical to long-term profitability although access to each is becoming increasingly difficult.
