Children And Honey Bees

This is the third of four articles on presenting programs to children about honey bees. Many of you go into schools to present bee programs for children. Hopefully there are some new ideas and points of view in this article to help you in your work. If you have not ventured out to talk to groups of children, you may want to consider taking on this fun challenge. I know that some people may run screaming for mercy if confronted with a group of 5-year-olds. I, myself, gulp when I address a group of insecure, hormone-raging, tattooed teenagers. I make myself do it because I know that with every experience I learn more about this mysterious group. In this way I have an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of teenagers therefore enriching my life as a human being. Children give us the opportunity to embrace and appreciate youth. Take a chance.
