On Nov. 4-10, 2007, the AIST Oxygen Steelmaking Operating Committee (AOSOC), in collaboration with the VDEh Stahlinstitute Oxygen Steelmaking Committee (VSOSC), participated in a study tour of BOF steelmaking in Germany. Thirty members of the AOSOC attended the week-lone event, which included plant tours of five steelmaking facilities, a joint meeting and technical discussion with the VSOSC, the Stahl 2007 Day of Steel Conference, a tour of a heavy equipment manufacturer, and visits to a full-line supplier of metallurgical facilities and engineering services.
