From 1 January 1995 onwards, the Polish currency was denominated (1 new Zloty = 10 000 old Zlotys). All prices and taxes are shown in new Zlotys. General Tax (VAT): VAT is not included in prices shown for industry, electricity generation and automotive diesel oil because it is refunded on purchases for commercial purposes. Prior to 4Q97, the prices shown are annual and quarterly average expenditures for one tonne of heavy fuel oil paid to the distributors by industry and electricity generation sectors, respectively.
