The last two articles have looked at the issues surrounding my top four commonly encountered golfer complaints and criticisms regarding course management.These have included hollow coring, payability of bunkers, managing leaves during autumn and the practicalities of undertaking course inspections. Complaint No.5 has to be "Our greens are too slow and much slower than nearby courses". But rather than write another article on the rights and wrongs of the demand for increasing pace, let us look beyondthis and see whether golfers are accurate enough with subjective opinions on playing quality and performance, including speed.
