The debate about sward composition and the merits of finer grasses over meadow grasses rages on in our industry with ever more entrenched camps of greenkeeping practitioners, consultants and experienced green chairman always keen to offer their views.There are even websites dedicated to this issue now, fuelling the hysteria and rhetoric of the two camps. I've seen sane, placid and balanced turf professionals change into rabid beasts when this subject is debated and I fear it might be forever thus -I hope it won't!
